There has been an increase in the number of reports regarding phone deception precursor calls within the jurisdiction of the Mobara Police Station.
Home landlines and cell phones are still receiving calls from ＋ （ plus international numbers starting with ） and blocked numbers, etc. starting with
"Hello, it's me"
from the Oleore scam.
If the caller assumes the caller is his son or grandson and continues talking
the caller claims to be in need of "money" such as "delinquent taxes," "lost company documents," "had an affair and got his partner pregnant," "caused a traffic accident,"
etc., and tries to swindle the caller out of cash, electronic money, crypto assets, gold bars, etc.
Other police officers are also involved in this scheme. Other callers claim to be police officers, financial institutions, cell phone companies, municipal offices, doctors of famous hospitals, etc.,
and give various reasons such as "your phone is being used for a crime," "you have unpaid bills," "you have a tax or pension refund," "your son is having throat surgery,"
and so on. Some of them even told me before this call, "The call will stop in two hours. Please press 1 to be connected to an operator.
Both of these calls may be preceded by an automated voice that says something like, "Your call will stop in two hours. All of these calls will ask for 'money' at the end, so if you hear the word 'money' on the phone, etc., suspect it is a scam, hang up the phone immediately, and consult your family or the police.

The best way to avoid being cheated by scammers is not to talk directly to them.

?　Check the number display to see who is calling you and do not answer blocked numbers, international numbers beginning with ＋, or unknown numbers
