If you connect to an operator, a series of criminals claiming to be telephone company employees, police officers, etc. will appear and say
"Your phone number has been given to a gang."
"Many victims are using the phone in your name for crimes. You are under arrest."
They will demand money from you, or ask you to open an Internet banking account and transfer your deposits to them, and cheat you out of money.
They may call not only landlines but also cell phones, or they may receive calls directly from someone claiming to be from a telephone company, etc.
They may also deceive you by claiming to be a city hall, bank, or post office employee,
saying, "We have a refund for you. If you complete the procedures today, you will get your money back. Just take your bankbook and card to the ATM."
Some callers have also received phone calls as a prelude to a refund scam.
ATMs cannot process tax and medical refunds.
To avoid being cheated by scammers
