Robberies have been reported in Chiba Prefecture and neighboring prefectures in the Kanto region, targeting single or elderly households in detached houses during the late night hours, in which the glass of kitchen doors and other doors are broken to gain entry into the house.

Before the robberies, the perpetrators, claiming to be relatives, police officers, municipal office employees, or financial institution employees, call to ask questions about family members, bank balances, cash （ and chest deposits ） and other assets kept in the home, or visit and ask questions in the name of a renovation company. They may also visit you in the name of a remodeling company and ask you questions.
To prevent being a victim of crime, do not tell them your personal information or asset status if they ask.
